Claude Code is not part of the standard Enterprise license - it needs a Premium seat. Nearly every request here is someone who hit the "Premium seat required" message and wants to know how to get one and who pays.
How do I get access to Claude Code?
Overview
Claude Code requires a Claude Premium seat. The standard Enterprise license shows a "Premium seat required" message when you try to use Claude Code. Faculty and staff can request a Premium seat through MyAccess; the cost (roughly $1,800-$2,400 per year, prorated) is paid with department or college funds. Once your Premium seat is provisioned, sign in to Claude Code with your SU account.
Steps
Try Claude Code. If you see "Premium seat required," you need a Premium seat.
Request a Claude Premium seat through MyAccess (the access package).
The cost (roughly $1,800-$2,400/year, prorated) is paid with department or college funds.
Once provisioned, sign in to Claude Code with your SU account.
